Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make a reservation?
We accept reservations. Please call us at 0131 220 1688.
Do I have to use chop sticks?
No. We also provide you with a knife, fork, and spoon. However, we'd love for you to attempt to enjoy your meal in the traditional fashion with chop sticks! Just ask us! We'd be glad to give you some useful tips!
Where do you get the fish?
We exclusively get our fish from local suppliers in Edinburgh. We have a very close and trusting business relationship with all our suppliers. Should the quality of our dishes not be completely satisfactory, please do not hesitate to inform us immediately.
Do you offer non-spicy dishes as well?
Yes! Many Chinese dishes call for very hot spices but we have a wide selection of non-spicy dishes as well. Please let us know if you do not like spicy food when ordering your meal. We are able to de-spice the dishes according to your preferences.
Which regional specialties does this restaurant serve?
Almost all of our dishes are based on traditional recipes handed down to us from our grandparents. We mainly have Cantonese style dishes but also serve a variety of dishes from other regions of China.
What is Dim Sum?
Dim sum is a type of Chinese dish that involves small individual portions of food, usually served in a small steamer basket or on a small plate.
Dim sum can be cooked by steaming and frying among other methods. The serving sizes are usually small and normally served as three or four pieces in one dish. It is customary to order family style, sharing dishes among all members of the dining party. Because of the small portions, people can try a wide variety of food.
It is truly a fun and delicious way of eating and although the custom is to accompany it with Chinese tea, we recommend pairing it with your favourite wine or beer for a fantastic time. Consider it Chinese Tapas!
What is Szechuan Style?
Szechuan is a style of Chinese cooking originating in Sichuan Province of southwestern China. It is famed for bold flavors, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of garlic and chillis, as well as the unique flavour of the Sichuan peppercorns.

Well cooked varied choice and my kids love it. The chicken in herbs is fantasic as is the spicy squid. Service is very friendly with Rachel and Vivien always smiling and it is very comfortable. House wine is good as well.
